ELIGIBILITY FOR WEDDINGS AT ST CUTHBERT’S LYTHAM
St
Cuthbert’s, in common with other parish churches, is bound by
Marriage Law which has been approved by the General Synod of the
Church of England, and received the Royal Assent.
In accordance with this legislation, you have a right to be
married at St Cuthbert’s if one or both of you:
• live within the ecclesiastical parish (click
HERE for map)
• are on the church electoral roll (to be on the electoral
roll you have either to live in the parish or have worshipped
regularly at St Cuthbert’s for six months).
You
can also be married at St Cuthbert’s if one or both of you has
one of the following qualifying connections:
• you were baptised at St Cuthbert’s
• you were confirmed at St Cuthbert’s or at one of the other
churches in Lytham that form the Lytham Ecumenical Partnership
• you have at any time had your usual place of residence in the
parish of St Cuthbert’s for at least six months
• you have at any time habitually attended public worship at St
Cuthbert’s for at least six months
or,
a parent of yours has at any time in your lifetime:
• had his/her usual place of residence in the parish of St
Cuthbert’s for at least six months
• habitually attended public worship in the parish of St
Cuthbert’s for at least six months
or,
• a parent of Grandparent of yours was married at St
Cuthbert’s |
